Spreadshirt-Konkurrent Zazzle hat den Mass Customizing Dienstleister Confego übernommen ("Zazzle Acquires Confego to Accelerate Next Generation in Product Customization"):
"Confego, from the co-founder of Timbuk2, manages order fulfillment and shipping for large retailers such as Reebok, to offer customized versions of their products through the use of Confego's proprietary software.
Through the acquisition, Zazzle will obtain this exclusive software, and will continue Confego's current relationship with Reebok's RBK Custom. (...)
Confego has perfected the manufacturing and fulfillment process, allowing delivery of custom shoes in just one week, as opposed to the three to five week lead time currently provided from similar vendors."
Alarm:Clock schreibt über die Umsatzentwicklung von Confego:
"Thanks to customers like Timberland, Nike, RedEnvelope and Reebok, Confego doubled its revenue in 2005 to $750K.
The company announced an expanded deal with Reebok last summer will increase revenue to about $1.5M in 2006 and significantly more in 2007 for the company formerly known as NuSewCo."
Zazzle selber hat 2005 Venture Capital bekommen und ist seitdem auf Innovationskurs.
